DRAFTING W/ CAT COHEN
Cat Cohen’s off-Broadway show, Broad Strokes, begins performances this week at New York’s Lucille Lortel Theatre. Directed by Alex Timbers, the musical cabaret is a comedic one-woman show Cohen promises will be “fabulously vulnerable.” The performance centers on mortality and hypochondria, inspired by a real-life stroke Cohen suffered at 30, caused by a hole in her heart.
Always one to mine her own life for laughs, this confessional production — fresh off a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe — showcases Cohen’s signature mix of original songs and hilariously vulnerable jokes.
For DRAFTING, Cohen opens up her phone to give insight into her creative process and personal life. Like us, she’s attempting to self-regulate with a Brick while also binging Love Island. Unlike us, she packs rehearsals and performances in between it all.
