DRAFTING W/ ELLA SNYDER
Ella Snyder is an It girl — a title she leans into with her own Substack, Esoteric It Girl. Identified by Creative Director Glenn Martens as the defining face of his debut collection at Diesel, she was swiftly positioned at the center of a defining early-2020s brand reboot — momentum she continues to build on today.
Since then, Snyder has moved through the coolest corners of the industry — from the infamous Heaven by Marc Jacobs couch to campaigns for Betsey Johnson and runways for Kim Shui at New York Fashion Week. Now, that influence reaches beyond image, adding columnist to her résumé at Cosmopolitan — proving her cultural currency extends well past fashion.
As NYFW begins, we asked the model to unlock her phone for DRAFTING. She shared glimpses into her private and professional worlds, from old college voice recordings and selfies from a recent shoot that called for many wigs.
I just got back from four weeks of traveling and visiting family, so it’s a bit sparse right now. This is also shared with my roomie, who’s a celiac sweetie.
WIP pics of the custom Blythe doll I made for my childhood bestie Maude. She’s obsessed with them, so I bought a factory doll from AliExpress, sculpted the face, painted the skin, did her makeup and braids, sourced her outfits, and made her a little box. New hobby and craft unlocked.
My Spotify library, and yes I know I should go plug my phone in.
Sneak peeks from a campaign I just worked on. Glam by some of my besties: John Novotny on the hair and Grey Hoffman with the makeup beat. Save money on hiring four models and just hire Ella Snyder in four different lace front wigs.
This was a draft for a cheeky breakup text, no ChatGPT needed. I always recommend keeping it complimentary and cute, you never know if you’ll want to revisit that relationship at a different time down the road.
Sneaking a selfie on set of the final Heaven campaign — featured are VTSS, Zamar Velez, King Sephi, Manon MingBlingBling, Scarlett White and Scarlett Costello.
Peacock and Hulu. I’m on my friend’s accounts for both, so I can’t claim this is all me — but I love television, honestly.
