DRAFTING W/ TANNER FLETCHER
Tanner Richie and Fletcher Kasell are New York fashion’s star couple. The CFDA-nominated designers co-founded their brand, Tanner Fletcher, with an imaginative vision of bringing playful nostalgia to modern style — and have built an all-star fanbase in the process.
Ariana Grande and Bad Bunny have worn TF looks, along with Darren Criss at the most recent Grammys. (You’ve likely seen the viral shoot of Heated Rivalry’s Hudson Williams in a belted TF swim brief.)
Their latest collection, Cabinwear, debuted at NYFW, reflecting on the designers’ Midwestern upbringing. Hunting, fishing and other outdoor rituals shaped their everyday lives — and inspired this season’s 62 looks.
For DRAFTING, Tanner Fletcher bring us inside their life together — from their cat Helen to a shared obsession with antiquing. It’s all part of what drives the creative process behind their clothes.
On set at J.Crew shooting the campaign for our rollneck collab. We’re not used to being on this side of the shoot, but we had a great time.
Fun fact: we’re in the top 10% of KFC Bedstuy fans. Wow! We had way too much last year and now we’re disgusted by it. Oops! Now it’s probably McDonalds because all we can eat when we’re stressed is fast food. All of a sudden it’s 1 AM and we haven’t had dinner, so what are we supposed to do? At least it looks nice on silver.
Screenshots from Facebook Marketplace of things we don’t need, but don’t ever want to forget. If Barbra wasn’t $500 I may have purchased. I probably would have purchased all these things if I had room for a buck bar and a horse’s arse. Love how someone reacted with the care emoji.
Our most listened to song in 2025 was the West Side Story overture because it inspired our runway composition. We blasted it 24/7.
Helen loves swatches. We are always finding random shreds of fabric everywhere you can imagine. Sometimes we reach into our jacket pocket for keys or something, and they’re tangled in a pile of nasty run down lace. Like, why do we hold onto that? We find random zippers everywhere too.
Being silly getting ready for the CFDA awards. Tanner won’t allow the picture to resurface, but the first time we went to the CFDA awards, we did our own hair and let’s just say his did not hold up too well. Lesson learned. We did it right this time — the time we weren’t nominated.
Our adventures in antiquing — always at an antique store. We love to explore New England to search for all the antiques we sell on our website. We’re addicted to collecting and we keep way too many things for ourselves. The money we make from the sales basically just pays for what we keep, so in a way they’re free.
Always too many things to carry in the garment district. Tanner always overestimates how much he can carry.
Only in the midwest: Our beef jerky haul, Gucci loafers on the pontoon boat, a beer trailer (of course, we cannot pour) and taxidermy. That pretty much sums it up, an accurate representation of our culture. We just debuted our Cabinwear line and everyone was asking what inspired us — it’s this.
