DRAFTING W/ VIVIAN WILSON
Vivian Wilson is fashion’s unlikely breakout. Known to the extremely online as Vivllainous, the it-girl just wrapped a Fashion Month where she was everywhere. Her Instagram bio warns, “I will become a supermodel because I am insane” — and somewhere between manifestation and momentum, it’s already happening.
At Gucci, she walked in Demna Gvasalia’s much-talked-about runway debut as creative director; at Alexander McQueen, she appeared in Sean McGirr’s evolving vision for the house. These back-to-back cameos position her inside a broader shift, where internet instinct and high fashion are no longer at odds. “I’d hate to doubt me,” she wrote on Instagram, summing up the month. “I’d lose.”
For DRAFTING, Wilson brings us in-between the big moments we all see online: a book she’s reading with “excellent trans representation,” what’s playing in her headphones on repeat and her go-to emojis that say what words can’t.
This was the invite Acne Studios sent me for the show. I have a lot of positive memories associated with it. They sat me next to Nimay Ndolo (shoutout icon) and the collection was incredible to witness on the runway like that. Also, free champagne. I do enjoy the taste of free champagne.
I don’t remember the context.
I’ve had Adéla on repeat since The Provocateur released. I have two different playlists: one is more pop and upbeat, and one is more depressive and melancholic. This is my more upbeat one.
This was me in Paris post-shoot. There was this place that made burgers inspired by various African cuisine and I liked the decor. The food was amazing, I highly recommend.
Celestial Monsters by Aiden Thomas. It’s the sequel to The Sunbearer Trials. I have this thing where I will read the first book of a series and then kind of forget about the other ones, or I’ll just start it and not finish it and read other books in between. I’m currently going back to read Celestial Monsters because the original is one of my favorite reads of all time. It also features excellent trans representation, which I am always here for.
The ones I use the most are definitely the nails, sparkles and skull emoji. They just add pizzazz.
I passed over here during the flight from Paris to LA, and I Googled it afterwards. It's a quaint little Icelandic town.
I had just had around five cups of coffee before I took this on set, so I was literally vibrating. The breakfast had free refills. I regretted my decision instantly.
